Discover Newcastle

Newcastle upon Tyne sits on the north bank of the River Tyne in North East England, and grew from a Roman settlement into a centre for coal mining and shipbuilding, and famous inventors. It is the 5th most populous region in the United Kingdom and today is a business and cultural centre with a beautiful Georgian city centre, stunning beaches, and a particular reputation for being the friendliest city in the UK. Among its icons are musical legends, Newcastle United football team and the Tyne Bridge.

Weather

Newcastle has a temperate oceanic climate with cool summers (15-20C) and mild winters (2-7C). Rainfall is spread throughout the year.

Getting There

Newcastle Airport (NCL) has direct flights from many European cities. The city is well-connected by train to London (3hrs), Edinburgh (1.5hrs), and York (1hr).
